Advanced Regional Anesthesia 2008: Invasive Pain Management Techniques And Regional Anesthesia Hands-On Workshop

Course Description:

The purpose of this program is to teach and review the anatomical basis, indications and techniques of regional anesthesia. Each participant will practice specific techniques on live models and cadavers.

Course objectives:
* Identify and review indications, anatomy, techniques and complications of regional anesthesia in the head and neck, upper and lower extremities, trunk and abdomen.
* Identify and review indications, anatomy, techniques and complications involved in sympathetic nervous system blocks.
* Learn to perform advanced pain management techniques such as intrathecal pump implantation,spinal cord stimulation and facet joint rhizotomy for chronic pain management.
* Discuss and review recent advances in management of chronic malignant and non-malignant pain.
