Course Objectives: Upon completion of this program the learner will be able to:

  • Discuss the basic fundamentals of ultrasound physics and instrumentation
  • Understand the advantages of using ultrasound for peripheral nerve blocks
  • Identify cross sectional peripheral nerve anatomy (upper and lower limb) by ultrasound
  • Demonstrate techniques for performing ultrasound guided nerve blocks using inanimate phantoms
  • Demonstrate techniques for performing ultrasound guided CVC guidance
