Vascular Access Ultrasound Workshop
Course Description:
The Course will be delivered in 1/3 theory and 2/3 practical sessions. It is designed as a brief introduction to needle guidance technique and is especially suitable for registrars or those with little time.
Course Objectives:
• Provide a brief introduction or revision of the basic principles of ultrasound and knobology
• Gain experience in navigating the ultrasound system and its features
• Provide an introduction to procedural applications of ultrasound including peripheral nerve blocks
• Demonstrate basic practical proficiency in vascular access through experience gained in the use of ultrasound phantoms
