Hospitalist Procedures - A Seminar for Medical Hospitalist Training

Course Objectives: Upon completion of this program the learner will be able to:

Review the risks, benefits, alternatives, indications/contraindications, and techniques of commonly encountered procedures in hospital medicine.
Understand the post procedural management of patients with and without complications.
Indentify the appropriate laboratory examinations to order based upon the differential diagnosis, and understand how to interpret the results received.
Learn about JCAHO Minimal sedation or Level 1 "anxiolysis" versus Moderate sedation/analgesia or Level 2 "conscious sedation."
Understand CPT codes for billing and reimbursement of professional fees and services.
