Hospitalist Procedures - A Seminar for Medical Hospitalist Training
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this program the learner will be able to:
- Review the risks, benefits, alternatives, indications/contraindications, and techniques of commonly encountered procedures in hospital medicine.
- Understand the post procedural management of patients with and without complications.
- Indentify the appropriate laboratory examinations to order based upon the differential diagnosis, and understand how to interpret the results received.
- Learn about JCAHO Minimal sedation or Level 1 "anxiolysis" versus Moderate sedation/analgesia or Level 2 "conscious sedation."
- Understand CPT codes for billing and reimbursement of professional fees and services.
