Interdisciplinary Ultrasound Workshop - Emergency Medicine and Critical Care

Course Description: Sonography in Intensive and Emergency Medicine gains incrementally in importance. The workshop gets across important diagnosis and procedures in these fields of medicine in a structured way. The schedule focuses on the use of sonography in the echocardiography (FATE method), anesthesia (vascular accesses) and emergency medicine (FAST method).
Practical tutorials with ultra-modern ultrasound systems and punctures on phantoms complete the course. Emergency settings with hands-on-trainings stress the practical focus.
The limitation of attendees to 25 persons ensures optimal training circumstances. The workshop is certified by the Bavarian State Authorisation Association for Medical Issues.

Course Objectives:Upon completion of this program the learner will be able to:

  • Operate basic cardiac sonography with the FATE method
  • Operate emergency sonography with the FAST method
  • Effect vascular accesses
