Course Description: Sonography in Intensive and Emergency Medicine gains incrementally in importance. The workshop gets across important diagnosis and procedures in these fields of medicine in a structured way. Practical tutorials with ultra-modern ultrasound systems and punctures on phantoms complete the course. In addition to the basics in cardiology sonography (FEEL method), you get intensified in touch with the abdominal sonography (FAST method) as well as the thorax sonography (pleural effusion/pneumothorax). You train standard soundings and the identification of pathological evidences.

The limitation of attendees to 25 persons ensures optimal training circumstances. The workshop is certified by the Bavarian State Authorisation Association for Medical Issues.

Course Objectives:Upon completion of this program the learner will be able to:

• Operate basic cardiac sonography with the FEEL method
• Operate abdominal sonography with the FAST method
• Operate thorax sonography
