STAT CARE Ultrasound for Critical Care Physicians
Course Objectives: At the completion of the program, the participant should be able to:
- Discuss the basics of how ultrasound works.
- Explain the orientation to human anatomy and the relationship to the Ultrasound probe
- Discuss probe preparation for invasive procedures.
- Perform ultrasound evaluations of the heart, selected arteries, solid organs and demonstrate the ability to scan the chest, abdomen, orbit, and extremities.
- Recognize normal and abnormal sonographic anatomy in the eye, chest, abdomen, soft tissue and extremities.
- Demonstrate and apply ultrasound guided vascular access on an ultrasound phantom.
- Explain ultrasound applications useful in managing the critically ill, or unstable patients.
