STAT CARE Ultrasound for Critical Care Physicians

Course Objectives: At the completion of the program, the participant should be able to:

Discuss the basics of how ultrasound works.
Explain the orientation to human anatomy and the relationship to the Ultrasound probe
Discuss probe preparation for invasive procedures.
Perform ultrasound evaluations of the heart, selected arteries, solid organs and demonstrate the ability to scan the chest, abdomen, orbit, and extremities.
Recognize normal and abnormal sonographic anatomy in the eye, chest, abdomen, soft tissue and extremities.
Demonstrate and apply ultrasound guided vascular access on an ultrasound phantom.
Explain ultrasound applications useful in managing the critically ill, or unstable patients.
