Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound

Course Description:
The Course will be delivered with a focus on practical sessions. It is designed for candidates who have previously completed an introductory ultrasound course and who wish to extend their scanning skills.

Course Objectives:
• To further extend and increase confidence in practical scanning skills
• Consolidate knowledge of right upper quadrant ultrasound
• Provide an introduction to DVT ultrasound and scanning technique
• Provide a revision of ultrasound guided needle techniques including an introduction to peripheral nerve blocks
• Provide scanning skills in transabdominal assessment of 1st trimester pregnancy
