Emergency Medicine Ultrasound
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this program the
learner will be able to:
- Successfully complete emergency medicine ultrasound examinations following correct patient preparation and procedure protocols.
- Identify and display appropriate normal anatomy and orientation in the ultrasound field of view.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the importance of quality assurance in ultrasound as described in SAEM guidelines.
- Understand variations in scanning protocols for demonstration of pathologies in emergency medicine examinations.
- Be able to develop mapping techniques to approach a variety of scanning situations.
- Be able to identify sources and research reference materials for additional information in emergency medicine ultrasound.
