Emergency Procedures
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this program the
learner will be able to:
*Review key airway anatomy, review basic airway control indications and procedures; learn advanced techniques for nasal and oral tracheal intubation, and review cricothyroidotomy techniques and secrets.
*Review indications and basic techniques of needle and tube thoracostomy; review basic ventilator management settings; and learn common and fatal mistakes in ventilator management and how to correct them.
*Learn the advantages and techniques of external jugular, internal jugular, femoral and subclavian venous access; learn advanced techniques for intraosseous vascular access in children and adults; and learn advanced techniques for external cardiac pacer adjustment.
*Learn advanced procedures to facilitate lumbar puncture in febrile and head trauma syndromes.
