Focused Ultrasound for Physicians

Course Objectives: At the completion of the program, the participant should be able to:

Identify the procedures appropriate for screening in the target population and perform basic focused ultrasound exams for screening.
Through the hands on operation scan labs and didactic explanation of the basic physics associated with equipment design you will be able to adjust technical factors to optimize images.
Using volunteer models in the scanning labs you will be able to perform fast and accurate demonstration of anatomy and physiology.
You will be able to recognize normal anatomy and physiology as well as how to optimize image acquisition through transducer choice, transducer orientation, and technical factor optimization on the console.
