Introduction to Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
Course Description: The use of ultrasound for diagnostic and guided injection procedures will be reviewed. Scanning workshops and lectures are used to explain anatomy, pathology and scanning protocols of the shoulder, knee, ankle and foot. A low student instructor ratio is used to maximize scanning experience in workshops. Scanning phantoms will be used to practice needle visualization.
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this program the learner will be able to:
- Identify normal anatomical structures of the shoulder, knee, andle and foot with ultrasound.
- Identify common musculoskeletal pathology
