Gynecological Ultrasound
Course Objectives: At the completion of the program, the participant should be able to:
- Successfully complete endovaginal ultrasound examinations following correct patient preparation and procedure protocols.
- Identify and display appropriate normal anatomy and orientation in the ultrasound field of view.
- Use an endovaginal transducer to perform the procedure.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the importance of quality assurance in ultrasound as described in AIUM guidelines.
- Understand variations in scanning protocols for demonstration in gynecological examinations.
- Demonstrate techniques for transducer cleaning and infection control.
- Be able to identify sources and research reference materials for additional information on gynecological ultrasound.
- Use Doppler ultrasound as an adjunct imaging method in a gynecological exam.
