Introduction to OB/GYN and Endovaginal Ultrasound
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this program the learner will be able to:
- Explain the basic fundamentals of U/S physics/instrumentation.
- Describe routine scan protocols and measurements for performing transabdominal GYN, endovaginal scanning, and obstetric applications.
- Identify normal and abnormal imaging characteristics of ovarian and uterine pathology.
- Identify normal fetal anatomy, apply appropriate measurement techniques & discuss commonly seen fetal abnormalities.
- Perform a biophysical profile examination.
- Apply the information discussed in a clinical setting, under supervised conditions until an accepted level of proficiency has been attained.
- Increase knowledge and confidence to perform and/or interpret examinations.
