Carotid Duplex/Color Flow
Course Objectives: At the completion of the program, the participant should be able to:
- Identify the ultrasound appearance of normal carotid anatomy, architecture and flow.
- Use color flow and imaging to evaluate carotid flow.
- Describe the use of ultrasound to characterize carotid arterial disease.
- Perform Doppler calculations in a complete carotid procedure.
- Perform a basic carotid arterial procedure using the correct protocol.
- Describe image-optimization for carotid artery ultrasound exams.
- Identify additional resources for information on carotid arterial ultrasound.
- Measure the intimal medial thickness of the cornary artery.
